Belstead House is a Grade 2 listed building set in 6 acres of garden situated just a few minutes from the main A12/14 junction at Copdock and a ten minute taxi ride from Ipswich’s main railway station. Owned by Suffolk County Council the house, purchased in 1948, has been a popular venue for short term adult residential learning courses for over 60 years.
The main house retains many of its original features and has been sympathetically extended by many of its owners. It has 10 student bedrooms, 9 teaching rooms, a licensed bar and a light and airy dining room. The remainder of the bedrooms are located in a bedroom annex and are mainly single student bedrooms with shared facilities. The site also has a purpose built art room and pottery.
Belstead House offers a wide range of courses in craft, needlework, history, literature, science and folk music and dance.
